{Book review} Beautiful creatures by K. Garcia & M. Sthol

Posted on 12:47 by Unknown
Author: Kami Garcia and Margaret Sthol
Title: Beautiful creatures
Series: Caster Chronicles #1
Genre: Young adult, paranormal romance
My copy: Hard cover
Purchase: Amazon, kindle, Amazon, paperback
My rating: 4 stars
Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

My thoughts

This book was awesome! I loved that it was written from a guy's point of view. And even if it is from Ethan's POV it is like the story evolves around Lena the girl he falls for. The girl with powers greater than anyone could know and a curse hanging on her shoulders. This book is about them, it is about their connection to each other but most off all it is about saving Lena, from a horrible faith and it is a race against time.

It was written in such an awesome way and it was not just about Ethan and Lena it is also about the people in Gaitlin. The good and the bad. It is also about southern manners or sometimes lack of them. It is about Gaitlin as a town and all the crazy and not so crazy traditions they have.  What I want to say is that not only do you get to know Ethan and Lena but you also get to know a town and all the people who lives there and all their secrets.

This was a book that was hard to put down. It was intriguing, exciting, funny, sad and sometimes it made me a bit angry at all the small minded people in that town. This book involves you with the characters and their problems and their happiness. This is a book that I highly recommend you to read! It is well worth it, I promise!
