Taryn Browning

I've had the pleasure to read three books so far by Browning and I also have one on my TBR pile. So far I've liked every book I've read by her. She has a really great way with words that involves you in the story. She writes YA paranormal romance but she travels within that genre and has written a vampire hunter series that is on showcase today in this post, about angels and psychic abilities. What ever she writes about, she make it work. Read more about Browning on Goodreads

She's the Seeker. He's the hunted. What's at stake could kill them both...
For 17-year-old Seeker, Janie Grey, ridding the Baltimore streets of the undead is an inherited duty passed down from her Cherokee ancestors. Seeker Training Lesson #1: Never trust the undead. After her father’s tragic death, Janie creates her own life lesson: Love isn’t worth the risk. Both lessons are easy to follow until she encounters the flawed Kai Sterdam. At first, she believes he is the hybrid she is trained to hunt. But, when he has human traits, she determines she doesn’t know what he is. As Janie’s intrigue over who Kai is pushes her deeper into his mysterious past, she discovers a shocking truth that is even more harrowing than the evil they are up against. It’s a secret Kai wants to keep hidden, especially from Janie.

C.A. Fonner

I found this author when I was looking at Amazon to see if I could find something fun to read for free. That's when I stumbled on this author. The book is called Porcelain Angel and it is the first in a series. I loved it. It was so good. This is an author I want to see more from.
Read more about Fonner on Goodreads.

Eighteen year old Dylan is popular, the star goalie for his high school, and telepathic. Fearing rejection from everyone--including his family--he keep's his mindreading a secret. The ability has made his life predictable and dull. That is, until Angel arrives. The artistic and unaccepted new girl in town, is an intense mystery to him; even as he discovers he can feel her emotions and experience her memories. Memories so dark, they change his world forever.
Deep emotions and humor intertwine in this modern romance about finding love, acceptance, and strength. "Porcelain Angel" is an edgy, young adult novel. CONTAINS: adult situations and language.

Aprilynne Pike

Aprilynne is the author of the Wings series. I love it a lot. It´s about fairies and it´s four books in the series. I like that Pike writes in a way that will have you reading most of the day and night because she makes the story interesting all through the series. It is a story that deals with  love and how complicated it can be, despair, loss, action and the magic world of fairies. Pike is also really good with scenery and how to describe so it feels like you are right there with the characters in the story.
You can read more about Pike on goodreads  and on aprilynnepike.com

All books in the series:
Wings
Spells
Illusions
Destined

Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful—too beautiful for words.
Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.
In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.

This week i´m highlighting the author duo Jessie Lane. I have only read one of their books but I absolutely loved it and so did my sister. I can´t wait until book two comes out. It was so suspenceful and well written. The plot was great and I really had no idea what was going to happen.

Can she reach her destiny before tragedy strikes?
The doctors have told Kay that she will die before she reaches her eighteenth birthday. Her mother’s determination to save her life leads them to a move outside of Asheville, NC to a new set of cancer specialists in the hopes to help her. But it’s not what Kay and her Mom find in the doctor’s offices in Asheville that lead them on the journey to save her before time runs out. It’s what Kay finds in the woods outside of Asheville, and an inhumanly gorgeous guy named Ryan, instead.
Myths and fairy tales come to life before Kay’s eyes, bringing her closer to the ultimate cure if she can stay alive long enough to get there. And if the cancer doesn’t kill her before she finds the cure the secrets her mother has hidden from her may be the beginning of the end.

So, my Paranormal Thursday pick for this week have to be Wendy Higgins. She is the writer of the Sweet triology. I read her first book Sweet Evil a while back and loved it. I got totally sucked into her world and loved every second of it. The second book in this series is called Sweet Peril and will be released on April 30th. I can´t wait until I get to stop by and visit that world again!

Sweet Peril

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving
someone worth risking their life?

Paranormal Thursday is back this week as usual and this time I will highlight the author of "Shadow Falls series"! Her name is C.C. Hunter! I came across the first book "Born at Midnight" this summer and loved it. Then it took me a while to continue with this series. It was now in november when I went to London that I came across the rest of the series in a book shop there.

Born at Midnight
One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.

Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…// On Goodreads//

Paranormal Thursday is back this week as usual and this time I will highlight the author of Starcrossed! Her name is Josephine Angelini! This is her debut triology and I really like what I see so far. Her books are well written and the story is amazing!

Starcrossed
How do you defy destiny?

Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it's getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she's haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.

As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.

Okay, so this week I will share an awesome author named Shannon Dermott. She writes young adult books. Both Paranormal romance and Contemporary romance books.
I found her first book in The Cambion series "Beg for Mercy" on Goodreads and thought it could be an interesting book in regards to the blurb. An boy was I right! Since the this has become one of my favorite series and she just make you beg for more! *No pun intended* lol. At the moment I have only read the books in this series but I can´t wait to start reading other books written by Shannon.

Beg for Mercy                                Everyone dreams of that first kiss. Of that magic moment when your lips finally meet those of that special person you’ve waited your whole life for. A little awkward, a little scary, a little hot and every bit amazing. We speculate that the whole world will shake and time will just stop. No one, however, ever imagines that kiss to bring Death himself knocking.

Sixteen year old Mercy Moore's life just got more complicated. The kiss that originally could have meant she would finally have a boyfriend now was the kiss that could have very nearly ended his life. A small detail her mother conveniently never told her will take her life for an abrupt u-turn. Dating, no love, was now completely and utterly impossible. And the boy well, that boy would never be the same.

But life, however cruel, goes on. Far too soon for her taste, Mercy finds herself at a senior party with the elite students of her school and her best friend. And of all things, playing a stupid game that could very well mean the death of someone in that small room. If it were not for her best friend, the hottest guys in school, and a small need to fit in, she may have been able to escape the disaster that was to come. Her worst nightmare, her personal curse, her very life, only gets dangerously worse. //On Goodreads//

This week I will highlight K.A. Poe who is the author of "The Nevermore Series". She just released her third book in this series and I am so looking forward to reading it.
I really like her writingstyle and the series in general. It´s just really interesting to read about the expected Vampirehunter who falls inlove with the vampire. Enjoy!

Seventeen year old Alexis finds herself on the eve of her eighteenth birthday. What generally means a step into adulthood instead opens its way to a terrifying truth about not only her family, but herself. She comes from a long line of vampire hunters, and her real dad wants her to carry on the family quest. At the same time, she is falling for a new boy at school who has his own secret. He is a vampire. Alexis is forced to make a decision from which there is no turning back. - Will she deny this newly discovered heritage, or embrace it.

I read the first book a while ago and I was pleasently surprised and ended giving it 5 stars of 5.

Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

Well now it´s time to highlight a for me new author. I have never heard of her before until I found her first book in the Blood Coven Vampire series. The author i´m talking about is Mari Mancusi.
I love her writingstyle. It´s kind of quirky and funny in a way. She uses a lot of sarcastic humor in this series which I love. This is a series of 8 books and I am currently on book 3.
The books are about two twins and I love that we get to see the story from both of their eyes. Book 1 for example is from Sunnys perspective and book 2 and 3 is from Raynes perspective.

************

Two sisters—as different as the sun and the rain. For one, getting into the Blood Cover is to die for, but it seems destiny has something else in mind...

When Sunny McDonald gets dragged to Club Fang by her twin sister Rayne, she doesn't expect to find anything besides a bunch of Goth kids playing at being vampires. But when some guy mistakes Sunny for her dark-side-loving sister and bites her on the neck, she finds out that his fangs are real—and deadly.

Now, Sunny has less than a week to figure out how to reverse the bite, or else she's going to end up as the perpetually undead. And not only will she be a vampire, she'll also be bonded to Magnus—the bloodsucker who bit her—forever. And forever is a really long time...

Rayne McDonald had it all figured out. Get turned into a vampire, become the mate of the Blood Coven leader, and live the high-life for all eternity. Too bad the head vamp took a bite out of her twin sister by mistake. Now, not only is Rayne still not a vampire, but she learns she's a slayer instead—destined to destroy vamps gone bad.

After being recruited by a secret organization, Rayne is given her first mission: infiltrate a seedy bar downtown and expose its vampire owner, Maverick, for purposely spreading a nasty blood virus. Luckily the Blood Coven sends some help—in the form of sexy vampire Jareth. Will vampire and slayer be able to settle their differences and work together to bring down the evil Maverick? Or will they find their own hearts on the line?

This week  I will highlight an author that I recently found when I was surfing around on Amazon.com. I had high expectations from the beginning and was not dissaponted. This is the first series I read with a bit of an adult content so I did not know what to expect in that department but I really liked the sincerity in it all. Not so sencured =)
The author i´m talking about is of course Cat Miller and the series is called The Forbidden Bond Series. At the moment there are two books in it and you can find them below.

 ************

Betrayal, passion, family secrets, murder, and vampires...

What else would one expect during their freshman year of college?

After her birth, Danielle Vaughn, and her mother were ushered out of town in a surreptitious attempt to save her life; vampire prejudice can be deadly.

Like any normal nineteen year old, her biggest worry in life was blending in and working hard to keep her grades up. Her departure from a small town in search of a higher education causes a domino effect; she quickly finds herself maneuvering through a maze of enemies and lovers who are all hell bent on capturing her at any cost.
Danielle’s life is turned upside down by the return of her father and the society of vampires that shattered her human mother’s life. She must find a way to survive in the new world she is thrust into by a power hungry rogue on the hunt for gifted vampire youth. The hierarchy of the vampire nation is rocked by the existence of a demi-vamp who has challenged their narrow-minded views of the human race

Happily ever after is interrupted and the vampire nation is turned on its ear when Danielle Vaughn is snatched from the chapel on her wedding day. The search for the missing bride and her abductor brings Danielle’s family to its knees.

Brandi Vaughn struggles to find herself in the shadow of her powerful vampire family and her socialite twin sister. The hunt for her abducted half-sister lands Brandi in an emotional tug of war between the light and the dark, good and evil, a warrior and a rogue. Sometimes good people do bad things. Sometimes the bad guys have a good reason. Could you forgive the unforgiven?

This week I will highligt Becca Fitzpatrick and her amazing Hush Hush series.
I am absolutely inlove with it and is currently waiting for the last book "Finale". I love the way Becca writes. Patch makes me knee weak and he is my biggest bookhero crush lol
The whole series is just wonderful and exciting all the way through. It is kind of bittersweet that this series is ending. I so want more but it feels like it is a good time to end it.

Fates unfurl in the gripping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Hush, Hush saga.

Nora is more certain than ever that she is in love with Patch. Fallen angel or no, he is the one for her. Her heritage and destiny may mean they are fated to be enemies, but there is no turning her back on him. Now Nora and Patch must gather their strength to face one last, perilous trial. Old enemies return, new enemies are made, and a friend's ultimate betrayal threatens the peace Patch and Nora so desperately want. The battle lines are drawn—but which sides are they on? And in the end, are there some obstacles even love can't conquer?

For our first Paranormal Thursday I will give you a awesome book called "The Charmed". This is the first book in a series of three by the debut author Christine Wenrick.
I absolutely loves her writing style and she really knows how to connect with the reader through her words. The book is written in one perspective but it almost feels like you are getting it from two and I love it. That is what I call good writing.
If you would like to read more about Christine Wenrick and her books you can find her on her website christinewenrick.com

Olivia Ann Grayson sees only one future for herself – to compose and perform the music she has loved since she was a child.  But that future changes in an instant when a commuter train taking her to the city crashes and is attacked by, unbelievably, a coven of vampires!  As the rabid creatures feed their thirst on the surviving passengers, Olivia is spared from an unthinkable fate because of the intervention of another vampire – Caleb Wolfe, a figure from her past who, for reasons he doesn’t understand himself, would do anything to protect her. After one familiar touch, Olivia recognizes the man behind the vampire.  Soon love and a powerful supernatural connection begins to grow between them.  But with that connection Olivia starts to notice startling changes happening within herself, and violent events make it clear that the vampire coven which wanted her the night of the train crash won’t stop until they have her. Time is running out for Olivia and Caleb to discover why all this is happening.  And the answers they find may painfully tear their new found love apart.
