Book review: Take me now by Faith Sullivan

Posted on 13:14 by Unknown
Author: Faith SullivanTitle: Take me now
Series: Take me now #1
Genre: New Adult contemporary romance
My copy: E-book from Author
Purchase: Amazon
My rating: 3,5

How do you survive the internship from hell?

Don't fall in love.

Ivy thought being a reporter-in-training at the Independent Gazette would be her dream summer job. Little did she know, interviewing Eric, a landscaper with a heart of gold, would derail her plans. It turns out Ivy's boss, Lauren, has been eying his chiseled physique for quite some time.

But at twenty-four, Eric already has a tragic past, one that he is still reeling from. Even though his ordeal turned him into some sort of local celebrity, it's been a while since he's shared his bed with anyone. When he comes to Ivy's rescue out of the blue, it's not long before the two of them start seeing each other behind Lauren's back. When they get caught, Ivy's journey toward a college degree is jeopardized and her relationship with Eric is severely put to the test.

Career versus love? In the end, a shocking turn of events provides Ivy with a revelation she never saw coming.

My thoughts:

Just by reading the plot of this book I new I was going to like it and I was right!
It has a little bit of everything; Suspence, romance, steam, tears and a bit of crazy.
The storyline was good and I liked how it was written. I was able to feel with the characthers and that´s really important to me.
So to the charachters themselves.
We have Ivy who is the lead female charachter of the book is just adorable! In the beginning she is kind of gullible and weak I thought but she really grew towards the middle and end of the book.
It would be hard not to like her. The events that she goes through makes her stronger but at the same time she is immature in some aspects. Who can blame her though? She is only twenty one and kind of have perogative to be so.
Her best friend that she has known her whole life turns on her all of a sudden and oh my! do I hate him for it. Nasty ass guy! The things he does to her almost made me want to hurl. I just kept thinking, how could he do that!? He´s supposed to be her best friend for crying out loud!

The in sweeps the oh so lovely Eric. He is a couple of years older than Ivy and has had a rough life so far. He has a hard time letting a new love into his life but Ivy made it easier for him to do so. In the beginning.... Ivy´s boss makes it hard for them and so does Eric´s past. They go through ups and downs as all couples do but they have it harder than most.
Eric is also a very likable charachter and I kept feeling so sorry for him and everything he has went through. I can imagine what I would be like if the same happened to me!
Over all I liked this book and I am rating it 3,5 feet. It was something that´s missing though and I can´t really put my finger on it. Otherwise I would absolutely have given it a 4 in rating =)

ARC book review: Angel of Mercy by Shannon Dermott

Posted on 01:46 by Unknown
Author: Shannon Dermott
Title: Angel of Mercy
Series: Cambion #3
Genre: New adult, paranormal romance
My copy: ARC from author
Purchase: Amazon, Barnes and Noble
My rating: 5 feet

Mercy struggles to put the broken pieces of her life back together, including her relationship. With loss that cuts deep, she’s on a mission to make right all the things that have gone wrong. With someone hell bent on coming between her and her heart, her perilous adventures run light speed ahead. And it’s not only is her life in jeopardy. Who will ultimately determine her fate and that of her friends?

My thoughts:

I just finished the last page of this phenomenal book and OMG did i love it! Shannon you really brought out all of my emotions for this one. I was lifted high into the clouds and then down in hell. I laughed, I cried, I was pissed of at times and when it ended it had me just staring out at nothing in chock. I must say that this series is the only one that has been able to bring out this much emotion from me. I am just inlove with the story and all the charachters that it´s a pain everytime i read the last page of one of these books. It means that I have to wait to get another glimpse into their story.

Angel of Mercy is by far the most emotional of the books in this series in my opinion. It just feels raw and it was hard not to be swept away in Mercys emotions.
Mercy is such a lovable charachter and she has to deal with so many things. Everything she felt, I felt too. In my world that´s what I call good writing.
Mercy, Luke, Flynn and the rest of the gang is in for hardship in this book and we get to follow them through it all. A lot of questions are answered but also some new questions pop up that I truly hope we get answered.
The most hartbreaking of all is the love triangle of Mercy, Luke and Flynn. I love both of the guys and so it´s hard to choose wich one I wanted Mercy to end up with. This book ended with a huge cliffhanger so I will be utterly disapointed if we don´t get a book four! Please Shannon!

I don´t want to write more since I am very keen on not spoling anything for you guys but one last thing I can say is you will absolutely love this emotional rollercoster of a book!

New Adult review: Broken Gates by D.T. Dyllin

Posted on 12:52 by Unknown

Author:D.T. Dyllin
Title: Broken Gates
Series: P.J. Stone Gates Triology #2
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal Romace
My Copy: ARC E-book from author
Release date: May 24th
My rating: 5 feet

Blurb:

P.J. Stone is a Seer who saw too little, too late.

In the past, her biggest worries were boys and school—but war has a way of changing things. Now, the alien Riders are trying to overrun the world. As the last of their kind, P.J. and her friends must find a way to save humanity before there’s nothing left to save.

After choosing a mate, P.J. hoped she'd have time to enjoy her love life. But with everything changing so quickly and major secrets revealed, who knows what the future will bring?

What did I think?

I loved this one! It was way better than the first book!
From the beginning we are thrust into action (litterally on the first page!) and it just keeps going.
Twists and turns and very unexpected thing happen. Since the book is not released yet I will try to keep this review a bit shorter just so I don´t spoil anything for you. That would be no fun :)
Instead I am just going to try to explain how much I loved it.  I can´t wait for the third book!
Dyllin threw a giant cliffhanger in the end and I soo need to know what happens next!

P.J. is again dealing with seriously hard stuff for a girl her age. Between threats of humanity, a love triangle and heartbreak she is in over her head most of the time. But this is what makes this story so awesome!

This whole triangle between P.J., Bryn and Khol is awesome. Usually I like one of the guys more than the other but Dyllin made it really hard to choose. Especially the Bryn acted like a jerk.
As I said in my review of the first book, Khol is a guy that I love to hate and I really do in this book. There were some aaww moments with him and other moments I just wanted to slap him lol

So If you enjoyed the first book I strongly recommend you to read this one. You will not get dissapointed at all!

New Adult review: Hidden Gates by D.T. Dyllin

Posted on 10:56 by Unknown
Author:D.T. Dyllin
Title: Hidden Gates
Series: P.J. Stone Gates Triology #1
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal Romace
My Copy: E-book
Purchase: Amazon
My rating: 4 feet

Blurb:

For P.J. Stone, being a “Seer” who has never seen anything is less than fun. And P.J. isn’t known for her patience.

To make matters worse, she must choose a suitable mate to continue the Seer bloodline. Duty always comes before her heart…at least that’s what her parents taught her. When she finds herself wanting someone who is considered off-limits, P.J. is forced to question everything she believes.

As if navigating her love life isn’t complicated enough, P.J. finally receives a vision—of a threat to her world that only she can perceive. But no one will believe a fledgling Seer’s warnings. With nowhere else to turn, she may decide to trust a stranger with her life, her world, and maybe even her heart.

What did I think?

Well, I actually really liked this book. There were some things in it that I dissliked but the over all story was so good that it didn´t matter. So first to the things that I liked. To me this was a unique story.  I did not think it would be after reading the blurb but as the story progress so does it´s unique quality. Dyllin was really good at giving the reader alot of  "What the F#*!?" moments heh. I absolutely love those. You really don´t expect it and sometimes you don´t want it too but then it just happens. Am I making sence? lol.

The charachers are awesome and you really are in their world for a while.
First of we have main charachter P.J. She is you regular 18 year old girl who just happens to be a Seer. The problem is that she has never had a vision. YET. When she finally gets one it is huge as you read in the blurb.
I really liked P.J. and the way she was portraid. She feels so normal even though she´s not. When faced with though decisions she makes the right ones even though they may be horrible.

Then we have Bryn who is P.J.s best male friend. They have known eachother since kindergarden and has been attached to the hip ever since.
Loved him alot because he was so caring and nice to P.J.

Then in walks Khol... tadaa! The first ever douchbag that I fall in love with! I have never read a book where I love the douchbag until reading this one. Thank you Dyllin! I have been waiting to know what the fuss was about. I love him and hate him at the same time.
Khol is one big mystery that I will not reveal too much about without spoilers except that he is worth your time. Many of the "What the F#*!?" moments came with him.

Now to the things I did not like. First of the setting of where this story is playing out. I´m not sure if it was just me who missed it but I did not grasp it until half the book was read. Personally I want to know this from the beginning. Not sure if that´s just me?

Then one thing that happened was truly not believable but I can´t say what since I would spoil thing. Sorry. But for me it was not a dealbreaker as to how I would rate the book so it was ok.

All in all I really recommend you to read it!
