{Veer Blog Tour} Book review

Posted on 02:00 by Unknown

Title: Veer
Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy
Series: Clayton Falls #2
Genre:New adult
Purchase: Amazon
My Rating: 3

Only when you let go can you learn to live.
Between the death of her mother and pushing through law school without her best friend, it's been a tough year for Becca. Needing a break from Boston, she moves to a tiny coastal North Carolina town for a relaxing summer. After bumping heads repeatedly with a local cop, she realizes her summer will be anything but quiet.
Three years after a career ending injury ruins his chance to play Major League Baseball, Gavin has a distrust of northerners and lately girls in general. He wants nothing to do with a girl who is only in town for the summer.
When the two give in to their impossible attraction, they realize that they may just have found the key to freeing themselves from the ghosts of their pasts.

So, What do I think?
The first book in this series called "Derailed" I really enjoyed a lot. That made me look forward to reading this second book in the series.
The two main characters in this one we get to follow on the sidelines in Derailed and I didn´t really pay them that much attention except that I thought that Gavin was this obnoxious self centered guy who had way to much confidence.
Boy was I wrong! He was not obnoxious at all =)

Once you get into his head and sees his point of view you really start to understand him a lot better and I started to really like him. He has been through some though things that set him on a different path in life than he expected. Sure, it turned out to be great for him in the end but the way there was not smooth sailing.

Becca comes to town to spend summer with her best friend Molly after the death of her mother.
She is just looking for a quiet and nice summer, which she will not get buy the way heh.
Becca has also been through really hard things with taking care of her dying mother and then eventually the death of her mother. She also has some safety feeling-issues that she has to deal with after a traumatic life event in her past.
The attraction between Gavin and Becca is kind of a rollercoster sometimes with insecurities and confusion.

I loved the feeling of the story. It´s a pleasant read with nice pace and never a boring moment. It is not an action filled book but there are still things happening that makes you want to continue.

Alyssa Rose Ivy was great at painting a world with letters and I could really picture this little town in my head. I almost want to go there!

So, if you are looking for a cozy and easy read you should pick this one up!
