Book review: The turning tides by Derrolyn Anderson + GIVEAWAY!

Posted on 12:47 by Unknown
Title: The Turning Tides
Author: Derronlyn Anderson
Series: Marinas Tales #4
Genre:Paranormal romance, young adult
Purchase: Amazon

About the book:
Marina has been through a lot in the past year; she knows what she wants, and she decides to take matters into her own hands to get it. When a twist of fate takes her away from Aptos, she returns to find that her whole world has changed once again. A fortune teller’s ominous prediction seems to be coming true, people around her aren’t who they appear to be, and to top it all off, she’s being followed again.
Marina and Ethan only want to be together, but find they are being torn apart by their very natures. Can they overcome a final obstacle to build the future they dream of?

Our thoughts:
This was the best book out of all four. There were a lot of stuff happening trough out the book and the excitement level was high almost all of the time. We were introduced to a few new characters which was refreshing.  First off we have Paul who was with us in the whole story as Marinas bodyguard/trainer. He is a really likable person who has her back most of the time.
Then we have Ethans not so likable mother who we just hated from the start.  She really spiced things up.
She also made things very hard for Ethan and Marina who just moved in together and was really looking forward to being by themselves .

Marina´s family situation was turned upside down when she received a disturbing phone call from abroad.
Despite the total mess of her life and her own mind she is determined to make the best of it.

In the first three books the big issue was Marinas strong desires towards the ocean but in this fourth and final book the big issue was both her and Ethans insecurities towards each-other.
There is also a lot of jealousy going on which of course disturbs their relationship.
There were a lot of twists and turns that were completely unexpected and this is what made the book so good.

To sum things up, we really enjoyed this book!

GIVEAWAY!!
We have a giveaway of book 1 in this series!
Read our review here.

Marina is a privileged girl who’s had an unusual upbringing. Traveling the world with her scientist father, doted on by her wealthy and glamorous neighbor Evie, Marina’s life seems perfect.
Everything changes in the summer of her sixteenth year when she is sent to live with her Aunt Abby and Cousin Cruz in the lovely seaside town of Aptos, California.
Only a few weeks after arriving, sixteen year-old Marina has nearly drowned twice, enchanted the hottest guy in high school, and discovered a supernatural creature. If she can manage to survive some increasingly dangerous encounters with unpredictable mermaids, she might be able to unlock the mystery of her past and appease the mysterious forces that want something from her...
And maybe even find true love along the way.
