Kendall Ryan

I have read two books by Kendall and I really liked them both. I like her writing style and her stories a lot so she will be our featured author this week. The first book I read was "Hard to love" and the second one is called "The Impact of you". Read more about Kendall Ryan on Goodreads.

Needing an escape from her past, Avery chooses a college where no one knows her. Keeping a low profile was the plan, falling for the intense frat boy, Jase wasn’t. Yet she can’t deny how alive she feels when he’s near. Even as common sense implores her to stay away, her body begs her to get closer.

Jase, numb from his own family drama, has grown bored with weekends fueled by nameless girls and countless bottles when he meets Avery. Helping her cope with her past is better than dealing with the bullshit his own life’s served up. Determined to drive away the painful secret she’s guarding, he appoints himself her life coach, and challenges her to new experiences. Getting close to her and being the one to make her smile are simply perks of the job.

But when Avery’s past boldly saunters in, refusing to be forgotten, can Jase live with the truth about the girl he’s fallen for?

{Saturday Snapshot #30} Pregnancy Mania

Posted on 10:55 by Unknown

Saturday Snapshot was originally hosted by Alyce @ AT Home With Books.
This feature is now hosted by Melinda @ West Metro Mommy reads
Share your photos with us! They can be old or new but should be taken by you!

Yes I call this Saturday Snapshot pregnancy mania because that is all I think of at the moment. With only two weeks left until due date with my second child, who can blame me right?!
This has been a hard pregnancy because my body is sort of giving up on me.I rarely leave my apartment and that is taking it's toll on both me and everyone around me. I have of course a lot of fun moments as well. I had such a fun baby shower with close friends and family and it's been a joy to see and feel my baby girl grow inside of me. So anyway, since babies and everything baby related is all I think about at the moment I thought that is what will be on show this Saturday. Hopefully not too boring.

This is the ultra sound of my baby in week 20 of the pregnancy.

This is the stroller I bought. It's from the Swedish brand BRIO.
I love it and I love the color so much!

This would be me and my growing belly during the pregnancy.
This is from my baby shower. Small and simple, just the way I like it.

Question

Share something you've learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

Answer
Well actually I'm not sure I've learned something new exactly but we just started a youtube channel for this blog and my sister made her very first vlog post last Sunday. So I guess we've been learning to manage that channel a bit. Hopefully we will have a few more posts on that channel soon. Right now we need to figure out what kind of posts we want on there. Oh and if you have a channel let us know in the comment section so we can follow you!
If you are curious you can find it HERE --> Rather barefoot than bookless on youtube

C.A. Fonner

I found this author when I was looking at Amazon to see if I could find something fun to read for free. That's when I stumbled on this author. The book is called Porcelain Angel and it is the first in a series. I loved it. It was so good. This is an author I want to see more from.
Read more about Fonner on Goodreads.

Eighteen year old Dylan is popular, the star goalie for his high school, and telepathic. Fearing rejection from everyone--including his family--he keep's his mindreading a secret. The ability has made his life predictable and dull. That is, until Angel arrives. The artistic and unaccepted new girl in town, is an intense mystery to him; even as he discovers he can feel her emotions and experience her memories. Memories so dark, they change his world forever.
Deep emotions and humor intertwine in this modern romance about finding love, acceptance, and strength. "Porcelain Angel" is an edgy, young adult novel. CONTAINS: adult situations and language.

Book promo & Giveaway: Beautifully Broken by Sherry Soule

Posted on 10:20 by Unknown
Why I Decided to Give my Book Away for Free

by author Sherry Soule

To promote the new edition of BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN (with more romantic escapades and additional bonus material!) and to give fans of the Spellbound series a chance to read the revised version without having to buy a new copy, I have decided to offer it as a free download at Story Cartel for a limited time.

Readers who sign up at Story Cartel to receive the free eBook will also be entered into a random drawing to win a $10 Amazon gift card, IF they post an honest review of the book.

Free book + Review = Gift card

Sounds pretty awesome, right?

A word of warning…BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN (Part One) does end with a major cliffhanger, so if you hate those, then you might want to skip the free download. However, on the plus side, the sequel SHATTERED SILENCE (Part Two) is available for purchase from all major online retailers for only $3.99, if you’re dying to find out what happens next. I will post reminders about this and my other free promos on my Facebook page and my Twitter: @WriterSherry so be sure that you follow me at both of these social media sites, and the Official Spellbound Site.

So, if anyone is willing to read and review the new version of BB, would you be so kind as to leave an honest review on Amazon and/or Goodreads afterward? (You don’t have to include that it was a “free read,” and actually, I’d prefer that you didn’t. But it’s fine if you do.)

Leave review at this Amazon page or goodreads.

If you could do your best to get your review up by Sunday, September 8, 2013, I would greatly appreciate it.

Win a $10 Amazon Gift card

I will be giving away three $10 Amazon Gift cards to reviewers. It's easy to enter. Just fill out this form with the link to your review.

If you'd like to write something for your blog, you're quite welcome to do that at any time. If you do, send us the link here and it will count as an extra entry into the giveaway contest.

Thank you for supporting the work of writers. I hope you enjoy the book!

P.S. If you'd like to share this free book with your friends, visit Storycartel.com and spread the word through Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks!!!

P. S. Please help me to promote this free eBook by posting it on your FB page, blog, or by sending out a tweet with a link back to this post. ;-D

NOTE: Please remove/delete the previous copy BEFORE uploading the new free version to ensure that you read the correct edition. Sometimes an eReader device will not upload another version of the same title if the old one isn’t removed first.

{Book review} Wanted by Amanda Lance

Posted on 01:18 by Unknown
Author: Amanda Lance
Book title: Wanted
Series: Book 1
Genre: NA/YA contemporary romance
My copy: Amazon kindle freebie

Purchase: Amazon
My rating: 4.5 feet
Considering she’s a girl who calculates everything, Addie Battes knew the statistical probability of being abducted in her lifetime—too bad she never analyzed the odds of falling in love with her captor.
While stopping at a crowded rest area one summer night, seventeen-year-old Addie accidentally catches a truck hijacking in progress. Desperate to rid the crime of its only witness, one of the thieves kidnaps Addie. Yet surprisingly, when a renegade thief attempts to silence her for good, Addie is saved by the very man who abducted her. Now, forced on board a cargo ship in the middle of the ocean, Addie finds herself surrounded by international smugglers who want nothing more than to throw her overboard.
All except the artistic and intriguing Charlie Hays, whose strange protectiveness convinces Addie to trust him, even when common sense tells her otherwise. Yet, despite her doubt, and his unrelenting temper, their relationship develops into something much more. But, Charlie’s scorned colleague has stowed away, and as he seeks revenge against his coworker, Addie and Charlie are forced to put their new love—and lives—at risk
My thoughts

A really wonderful book. I recommend it strongly!
It was hard to put it down, nearly impossible actually.
Therefore I give it a 4,5.

I loved this book. It was so much better than I thought it would be. I must say I'm pleasantly surprised by  this book. I found this book on amazon for free and when I read the blurb I thought it would be a mediocre read, but it really wasn't. In some ways it was predictable and in some ways it was not. The Author is really good at was she does and she wrote a really wonderful story. It had everything you want: Suspense, Love, Friendship, Trust and Hate. All cleverly intertwined to make a really great read.

Addie is a girl you just instantly like and sympathize with. She has had a lot to deal with in her young life. Her mother past away, her brother fled to the army and she is left taking care of her dad. She is much more mature than her 17 years and she is also very smart and graduated high school a year earlier.

Charlie is probably the only bad boy I have actually genially liked! He is clearly a victim of circumstances during his upbringing. He does have a good heart but he doesn't really believe in him self. Even though he is in his late twenties he has a lot of maturing to do. The two of them has a lot to of dangerous situations to face in this book and a lot of the danger is because of him and what he does for a living.

This is so worth your time and I can't wait for the next book!
